Fraud Alert

News Story

Please be on the alert for suspicious communications allegedly sent by the Board.  A licensee recently received a fraudulent letter via fax purporting to notify him that his medical license had been suspended due to federal criminal charges.  The letter appeared to be written on Board letterhead and included a forgery of the Executive Director's name.

A copy of the false letter can be seen HERE.

A LICENSEE WILL NEVER BE NOTIFIED OF A SUSPENSION BY FAXED LETTER.

If you receive any suspicious or unusual communications that purport to be from the Board, please IMMEDIATELY REPORT the issue. You may do so by calling the Board at 601-987-3079 and asking for the Investigations Division, or by emailing a report to investigations@msbml.ms.gov.
