Koomarie Shoba Gaymes was born and raised on the East Coast in Guyana, South America. Shoba graduated from Belhaven University in History/Political Science and from Hinds Community College in Elementary Education. She has a love and passion for civic activities and makes volunteering a part of her life. Shoba is currently participating in several organizations in Mississippi and internationally including Guyana serving on their Executive Board. Shoba served as President for Central Medical Society Alliance (CMSA) and President for the Mississippi State Medical Association Alliance (MSMAA). She also served on various Committees for America Medical Association Alliance ( AMAA) and Southern Medical Association Alliance (SMAA).
