Dr. Owens is a native of Birmingham, AL and a resident of Jackson, MS. She received her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia and completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She completed her Subspecialty training in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where she now serves as Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Owens is the host of Mississippi Public Broadcasting’s weekly Women’s Health radio show, Southern Remedy for Women. She is active in several state and national medical organizations. While she enjoys traveling, sports, reading, and music of all genres, her favorite pastime is spending time with her husband and their three children.
